It would be difficult to look for a designer whose collections would be just so rich in colours, patterns, materials, cuts or even volumes. As if this were not enough, Marni comes with another autumnal innovation - vinyl. Do you think that it would be more suitable for LP discs? Francesco Risso, creative director of Marni, will try to convince you to the contrary.
The luxurious Marni has demonstrated many times over that its pieces are not for everyone. They require a great deal of courage and in particular atypical taste in fashion. It is the very last innovation - vinyl, which will certainly not find everyone´s favour. Francesco Risso applied this unusual material to both skirts as well as coats. He didn´t really hold back in the issue of colours either and you can thus choose for example from brown, black, blue or green.
Francesco Risso applied maxi volume on the clothing; trousers, overcoats, suits, as well as on accessories. The most striking pieces include handbags, which, however, thanks to their monstrosity look more like rubbish bags than a luxury accessory.
The excess of layering and the too-loose clothing are reminiscent of the homeless look, raising the question: Who is it actually, under all the clothing?
The only truly spectacular piece from the whole Marni collection is a pink-red dress of luxurious silk, which stands outwith the outlandish concept. The cut, material, high split and embellishment in the form of a gold clip give the dress a seal of luxury. It is perfect!
Oh dear this is all too crazy even for me. Clearly if someone had the task to tailor-make cheerleader kits for the psychiatric hospital in Bohnice he could certainly choose here. This would be too much even for Sigmund Freud!
I am seriously sorry, but I did not find a single thing which would make sense or that I would like even a little bit. We could see either colourful ´cat´ coats for those tortured females that have twelve or more cats, or dresses for people with a split personality.
It gives me a headache, it hurts my eyes...perhaps even my hair. I say stop to dandruff on polonecks and stop to Marni as such.
