21 years have passed since HBO broadcasted the first episode of the cult series Sex in the City. The audience around the world fell in love with Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte and Samantha. Unfortunately, fans probably won’t get to see them in the planned spinoff, which will be based on the new book by Candace Bushnell Is There Still a Sex in the City?
The satirical luxury book Is There Still Sex in the City?, which deals with dating and life after fifty, will see the light of day at the beginning of August 2019. It features divorce, friendship, aging, and of course sex in the main roles; the popular dating app Tinder also makes an appearance. Candace Bushnell isn’t trying to conceal the fact that she’s been drawing on her own experience when writing the luxury book.
The broadcasting rights have been purchased by the American production company Paramount Television, in cooperation with Anonymous Content. The author of the book, Candace Bushnell, points out that the storyline won’t be a direct continuation of the lives of the characters Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte and Samantha.
According to available information, it seems that the iconic quartet Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon won’t be standing in front of the camera this time, and that the creators of the series will rather pick new, fresh faces. But that’s going to be a huge shock for all fans - let’s wait and see how the TV studio will rise up to the challenge!
