Just like last year, the Prague Exhibition Grounds are the center of Designblok. It welcomes you to see around three hundred exhibitors, mainly from the Czech Republic, but also from Slovakia and other countries. Despite the fact that some designers appear at this fair every year, there is always something new to discover. And we went on such a journey of discovery today! What did we find?
It's great to see that even artists and designers are not indifferent to the environment. Designers are increasingly using natural materials to manufacture luxury products,. There was a wooden children's bike from Štěpán Kukal or the Rapello push bike. We were also intrigued by the Zew wooden glasses in unusual shapes, and the Fine Wood brand presented interesting interior accessories. Many brands that use natural materials can be seen at Designblok.
In addition, new, environmentally friendly materials are appearing on the market. We mentioned the unique material piñatex when we wrote about Luciela Taschen's collection. Another material was introduced at Designblok, made from waste coconut water. It is called malai and is produced in southern India. It is an absolutely vegan and completely biodegradable material. Several designers have already created some products. At the design fair, you can admire luxury footwear, wallets, handbags, as well as the malai chair upholstery by the brand Aton.
We are accustomed to the fact that, every year, Designblok presents luxury fashion, jewelry, lighting, furniture, interior accessories, bicycles, toys. This year, however, you can also admire the unique Cezeta retro motorcycle, the luxurious Renault DEZIR sports car and even the VL3 airplane! The proof is in our photo gallery!
Plenty of interesting lectures and fashion shows will take place as part of Designblok, and they will definitely be worth it. If you are interested in contemporary design, you should not miss out on Designblok.
