A refined, tastefully furnished bar with leather and wood, harking back to the style of Ernest Hemingway’s days. This famous writer and lover of good alcohol, especially cocktails, was a major source of inspiration for this venue in Karolíny Světlé Street in Prague 1. Hemingway himself loved mixed drinks so much that he contributed his own ideas to their recipes. Cocktails like the Hemingway Daiquiri are mixed to this day in his honour.
Hemingway Bar offers the widest selection of absinthe - on of the writer’s favourite distillates - including very rare replicas of the most luxurious ones every produced. Absinthe is served in the traditional manner, so don’t expect the flaming liquid in a glass so common for the cheaper substitutes. Rum lovers will also find their own, with more than 200 varieties on offer. Upon prior request, you can order a rum tasting experience, featuring rum served with pieces of chocolate, dried fruits or nuts - these pairings allow the taste of the distillate to fully develop and you can choose the most luxurious of them all. Also worth noting is the fact that the luxury drink mixing show is presented here not just by barmen, but also by barmaids. Hemingway Bar also brings together the first Rum Club in the Czech Republic.
