A luxury French-Belgian comedy about a group of disillusioned men who regain healthy self-confidence in a synchronised swimming team. The film is directed by actor Gilles Lellouche and you can expect a luxury comedy-drama genre.
The film Sink or Swim stars such acting greats as Mathieu Amalric, Guillaume Canet, Jean-Hugues Anglade or Belgian Benoit Poelvoorde. The screenplay was written by Lellouche, Ahmed Hamidi and Julien Lambroschini. At the weekend the film team was welcomed on the red carpet at the prestigious Cannes festival.
When Bertrand, one of the main characters, registers a notice at a public swimming pool that new members into a male amateur synchronised swimming team are sought, he registers himself. His followers are men aged 30-50 years, whose self-confidence was somewhat diminished.
Laurent (Guillaume Cenet) is a plant manager, whose anger led to a collapse of his marriage. An unsuccessful rocker Simon (Jean-Hugues Anglade) lives in a van which serves at the same time as his recording studio; he still dreams of becoming the next Robert Plant. Then there is Marcus (Benoit Poelvoorde), whose swimming pool and spa business is on the brink of bankruptcy; the pool maintenance guy has a friendly nature, behaving like a small child.
A great source of humour is also the immigrant Avanish (Balasingham Thamilchevlan) from South Asia, whose knowledge of French is minimal, and Basile (Alban Ivanov) who understands him despite the lack of a common language.
It seems that we really have something to look forward to, what do you think?
