An unusual combination of champagne and film Celebrities and the film industry are attracted by extraordinary things and this champagne is no exception. It played a "side role" and it was popular with the greatest stars of the silver screen. In 1933, Piper Heidsieck was associated with Laurel & Hardy's Sons of the Desert (1933), where it debuted on the silver screen.
Hollywood darling Marilyn Monroe even said in 1953:
As is often the case, women are an important impulse, driving engine and inspiration. Florens Louis Heidsieck fell in love with Agathe Perthois, and she was the reason he tried to create a wine that would reach the desirable luxury.
A man from Germany discovered the Champagne region, and with great dedication he attempted the first wines in 1777. Queen Marie Antoinette became the first brand ambassador after tasting the first cuveé. On her part, it was love at first "sip" and she completely succumbed to this champagne.
Piper Heidsieck is an extremely dry, full champagne with an aromatic flavor. The color is beautifully golden with emerald flashes. It is sparkling and yet crystal clear. The first tones could be described as mineral to flowery. Later, fruity tones, especially plums and light blooms of almonds, come forward. It matures in a luxurious bottle for 4 years.
This wine is really elegant and very noble! It will underline every festive atmosphere and is perfect for toasting.
The brand carries the names of the two founders, Henri-Guillaume Piper and Florens Louis Heidsieck. It is made from the best local ingredients you can imagine -– from the grapes grown on their own local vineyards. The Pinot Noir and Chardonnay varieties are most commonly used. It is produced by champagnization, that is, by secondary fermentation in a bottle of a mixture of legally allowed varieties of Chardonnay, Pinot noir and Pinot meunier.
