Since her debut in 2000, Pink (Alecia Moore) has released seven solo albums, sold more than 60 million albums worldwide, 130 million singles and around 2.4 million DVDs. She has had 14 singles in the prestigious Billboard Hot 100 charts, 4 of which made it to number one.
Pink has won three GRAMMY Awards, three Billboard Music Awards, six MTV Video Music Awards and many others. She was named “Woman of the Year” in 2013 by the renowned music magazine Billboard. Now that is what we call luxury! She performed 142 shows in 13 countries on the tour for her album The Truth About Love.
The concert on 9 August in Sziget will also mark her luxurious return to the concert stage.
The Sziget Festival is held on a large island in the middle of Budapest and is in particular famous for its luxurious programme. There are more than 50 stages at the festival with a diverse programme and music is played here nonstop.
The week-long nonstop event is regarded as one of the best and largest multicultural meetings in the world. The names of the bands range from the very biggest on the international pop-rock scene, all the way through to stars of electronic and world music, although when walking around the huge festival site, you will also find metal, folk, jazz, blues, alternative and even classical music.
Sziget is not only music. It also offers various cultural programmes such as theatre, circus or exhibitions. You will also find a beach here where you can get your fill of summer and the Danube.
This is also the only large festival where you can enjoy authentic Romany music and find a place for the gay community. And we should also not forget that the festival is located in the middle of Budapest, a tourist city with a lively cultural scene, beautiful historical buildings, Turkish spas and pubs which intentionally look as if they are about to be demolished. The festival attracts more than 500,000 people every year during the week it is held.
