This is a luxuriously slim and flexible digital device which combines the advantages of conventional paper and modern technologies. In addition to this, it has a special surface which is supposed to imitate writing on actual paper. The E-ink tablet DPT-RP1 has a 13.3” screen, resolution of 1650 x 2200 pixels and it is 5.9 mm thick, 224 mm wide and 302.6 mm long. The thickness of the tablet is less than 30 sheets of conventional paper and is extremely light. It weighs 0.349 kg. The internal memory is a luxurious 16GB, which should be enough for 10,000 PDF documents. If you ever need to share your content, you only have to connect a USB cable, or use Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. You can unlock the device with the aid of a smartphone with NFC functionality or any other NFC card.
A huge plus point of the E-ink display is its low energy consumption. As soon as a picture is shown on the display, no more energy is needed to keep it there. This is why the batteries in readers with an E-ink display last many times longer than those which for example have an LCD display.
It is clear that this modern electronic device will serve excellently as a reader for books and documents in PDF. It is also easily able to handle browsing and watching videos, but it does have one small “drawback” – everything is in black and white. A pleasant bonus is that you can write notes with the aid of a touch-pen or stylus if you wish. Thanks to this, you will be able to write, delete and highlight.
This “electronic” paper will be available in June 2017 for CZK 17,500.
For many, luxury paper. Or would you prefer a luxury tablet?
