Out of the City of John Galliano. Don´t Expect any Street Style in the SS19 Collection!
Anyone who knows designer John Galliano knows that his models are imaginative, colourful and modern. But don´t expect anything daring in the SS19 collection, but rather a subtle, simple fashion, a little reminiscent of country style. However, you will also find some luxury, sophisticated pieces.

Gathered sleeves and printed-fabric models
We like the beautiful, modern ruched models with bigger shoulders in several styles. The luxurious jacket with buttons of lace, with floral pattern or rhinestones or the classic jackets of printed fabric, such as newspaper motif, looks heavenly, matching well the other models from the collection.
Transparent netting or lace
The SS19 collection also offers luxurious sophisticated models, revealing bare skin and look really sexy. Mostly it is netting or transparent lace which is loosely hanging over shorts. So if you like more extravagant models revealing your body, you will enjoy the luxury looks from the collection. As regards the materials, it is clear at first glance that these are airy fabrics which are slightly translucent by themselves. Here therefore you reveal what you are wearing underneath your clothes.
Luxury cute dresses of any length
Women who like dresses will find several in this collection. All of them feature romantic frills or ruching at the shoulders. Bright pink, pale blue or white for example? It is up to you.
Hats and relaxed country style
A straw hat, high lace-up boots without any heels and various kinds of relaxed-style unbuttoned shirts or loose pants which are at first glance reminiscent of country style. Although this is a simple and quite minimalist fashion, which is trendy, in some cases it is unnecessarily lacking form and conceals feminine curves.

Beautiful fashion reminiscent of the nineties of the 1890s
As soon as I first saw John Galliano´s SS19 collection, I recalled the fashion style of the second half of the 19th century. Specifically, I had in mind in the 90's. Blouses or jackets with fluffy shoulders. Pure white with delicate decorative elements or the lightly folded variant of blouses. As if I once again looking at the painting "Mr. and Mrs. I. N. Phelps Stokes” from the year 1897. Here one could even talk about a bit of plagiarism, since Mrs. Phelps looks as if wearing the SS19 head to toe!
By this however I am not condemning Galliano´s collection. On the contrary, I very much appreciate the fact that he is one of the few designers who draw inspiration from the past, but unlike others did not get stuck in the middle of the 1970s, like most other fashion designers.
And my most favourite outfit? Certainly that white long skirt with a fine blue stripe in combination with a semi-transparent lacy blouse in combination with a detailed, sophisticated jacket with a turned-up collar and a straw (I will pretend that I haven´t seen the black army boots…). A perfect light country model, suitable for example for a posh brunch at Chateau Mcely in the middle of June. Perhaps one should just add a red rose behind the ear ....beautiful!!!
