Since 1995, the Olga Havel Award has been awarded every year, honoring those personalities who help other people with disabilities. Out of a total of 21 nominees, Tereza Nagyová won the award this year, for public education about her life with ostomy. At the ceremony in the New Building of the National Museum, she received Olbram Zoubek's luxurious sculpture “Encouragement” from the hands of the Vice-President of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, Miluše Horská, and Bishop Václav Malý, a member of the Board of the Committee of Good Will - Olga Havel Foundation.

"Illness may paralyze us, but it should not stop us. So carry on, it's worth it,” Tereza encouraged everyone with a disability.

Tereza Nagyová has been living with an aggressive form of Crohn's disease since her 18th birthay, which escalated to the point where she needed an ostomy (an artificially created intestinal outlet outside her abdominal cavity) several years later. She spreads knowledge about life with an ostomy through her blog NEJSEMTABU (I'm not a taboo), and also organizes educational seminars for people with the same disability and their nurses. She even designed a special collection of underwear and swimwear for stomics.

Josef Cerha, the director of the non-profit organization Tyfloservis, won the Public's Award for helping people with visual impairments despite his own handicap.

Prague is hosting the biggest social world event, Global Social Awards 2019 until Wednesday. The most influential influencers from around the world have come to the Czech capital, including the popular twins from Stuttgart, Germany, Lisa and Lena, who have 15 million fans on Instagram. In an interview for Luxury Prague Life, the girls confided that they were not making money from their popularity.

Every other influencer, YouTuber, or blogger is selling products from a variety of companies on their social media and gets paid for it. A simple business that the beautiful Germans refuse. “We don't want it that way. We do it for fun, not for money. One day we want to be models and actresses, it will be nice that people already know us, but to promote products we don't believe in or use, like makeup, no.” the twins explained, saying they prefer spreading good news:

“A lot of boys and girls are watching us, so we try to spread good ideas. Like not pretending to be something they're not, but simply being themselves, that way the're original. Or we try to spread environmental awareness, reduction of plastic and such things. That seems right to us.”

Their popularity is sometimes a nuisance to the twins

The influencers came to Prague for the first time, so they arrived two days earlier and went through the centre.

“It's a wonderful, really cool place. So much history and beautiful buildings...”

they enthusiastically explain, adding the fact that, of course, they are looking forward to the Global Social Awards and to Czech fans. Although so much attention can be sometimes too much.

“It's nice that people recognise us on the streets, want to take pictures and tell us beautiful things, but sometimes it's a lot and maybe it doesn't fit,”

they admit the negatives of popularity and add that they never knew they could be so famous. Everything started with one innocent video where they danced. And within a moment they became stars in Germany and popularity spread throughout the world.

The awards will take place on Wednesday evening at the Karlín Forum in Prague. The Czech Republic is represented by YouTuber Anna Šulc, who focuses on fashion and cosmetics. Her social media videos get tens of millions of views. The event will be presented by model Karolina Kurková, who has more than 700,000 followers on Instagram. The Czech group, Lake Malawi, will also perform during the gala evening, they recently succeeded in the Eurovision international contest, where they made it to the finals with the song Friend of a Friend. Eventually, they placed eleventh.
