The Strings of Autumn festival this year brought to Bohemia, in addition to other important musicians, also American diva, Lizz Wright, who made sure that Rudolfinum was sold out on the night. The luxurious concert was also attended by Karel Janeček, one of the main patrons of the festival.
No one can deny that she has a truly stunning voice. In amazement, all visitors of Dvořák's Hall were stunned by the performance of Lizz Wright, who is able to touch the most tender strings of every soul.
Lizz Wright comes from the USA. Her African roots, talent and love of music to which she has devoted herself since early childhood have predetermined her to become one of the most important performers of present day in the field of non-traditional music in which she mixes blues, jazz, gospel and pop. This original mix guarantees the listener a luxury, uplifting experience.
She has honed her beautiful deep voice since she was a member of a church choir as a little girl. In the year 2000 she appeared on the music scene with the band In The Spirit and three years later she released her first solo album. Her last recording is called Grace.
The music of Lizz Wright is perfect to warm your heart in the autumn, to soak in the autumnal atmosphere, and we therefore appreciate this great choice for the festival. There are still several Strings of Autumn concerts to come this year, so be sure to look into the programme on its webpage and put down one into your diary!
