Nowadays, we are experiencing the trend of "escaping the hustle of the city while having the city within reach". If it seems unimaginable, you have proof here in the form of Hodkovičky. You can spend hours in the surrounding forests, especially in the picturesque valley of the Zátišský stream. At the same time there is a tram connection which takes you directly to Wenceslas Square in 20 minutes. If you wish for a long walk, there is also a bus stop and the Prague-Braník train station in the vicinity. Beautiful relaxation can also be enjoyed on the luxurious golf course.

The luxurious landmarks of Hodkovičky

The most famous is the Neo-Renaissance summer chateau Vila Lalotta. Among the cultural monuments of this locality is the luxurious Frič Villa, a one-storey functionalist building designed in 1936 by architect Ladislav Žák and built by the builder Pali

ka. And also the Hořanovského villa, as a large adaptation of an older building from the 19th century, which was carried out in the years 1921-1922 according to Pavel Janák's project in cooperation with the artist František Kysela.

What did they let us know about themselves?

When did that moment come, the decision that you will create together? Or, what was behind it?

Everything came round spontaneously. We have increasingly often joined forces for larger contracts and complicated assignments at the time of our studies. Finally there was no doubt about the fact that two people get ahead with things better than one.

Where are the current trends going in terms of animation?

The current scene of illustration is experiencing a kind of Renaissance. In books, magazines and newspapers they can be seen more and more often. This goes together with digital platforms that are able to get the pictures moving. Web pages and social networks are filled more by gif and short animations. In foreign online magazines and newspapers animation is used extensively; this trend will surely come here, too. Illustrators and animators will cooperate more.

Where do you draw inspiration from?

It comes spontaneously. What we see or go through in life is constantly being processed and filtered. We are just tools.

How would you describe your creation in 3 words?

Playful, colourful, infinite.

What other luxury projects or new works do you have planned for the near future, which you can reveal to us?

Currently we are completing work on a project in Pec pod Sněžkou. The sculptor and artist Matěj Hájek and architect Tereza Kuèerová created here a play area called Pecka; we have created its visual identity. Then we will take a rest for a bit before to draw energy for autumn illustration of books, which will be published before Christmas. And we look forward to the luxury festival Lustr (Chandelier), we will make time for this event and create a small exhibition.

What else could you let us know?

That's a hard question. Perhaps that in general we love our profession, in the heat of the creative activities we then forget to frequently visit our supportive parents.
