It has been twenty five years since friendship and mutual cooperation between phenomenal Dagmar Pecková and exceptional designer, Ivana Follová was sealed. Dagmar Pecková, as the currently most famous opera diva transmits her various creative ideas to her house designer, Ivana Follová. Her workshop always creates stunning works of fashion art.
"Sometimes Dagmar brings a tiny piece of fabric, poetically describing how a dress made of it could look like," says Ivana.
All models made by Ivana Follová are kept in Dagmar´s collection.
The secret story made public. Every dress is associated with a luxurious fairy tale.
Dagmar herself admitted that she sometimes feels like in Cinderella fairy tale: the moment of suspense, wishful expectations and utter joy seeing Ivana´s luxury creation. We will unveil a bit about a special-occasion dress made for celebration of Czechoslovakia anniversary. The designer chose to create a rich collar, to evoke a great lion´s mane. The Greek-inspired dress is carried in the spirit of the noble character of Helen from Offenbach´s opus. The materials; silk organza and tulle lend the gown ostentatious character. How did Dagmar speak about this powerful gown? This dress combines simplicity and majestic dignity. I am going to wear it to the upcoming second year of the festival Golden Pecková. In this dress I will perform the main role of beautiful Helena, it is opera bouffe by Jacques Offenbach.
We have made an interview with stunning and very energetic Dagmar Pecková. The questions were aimed at her luxurious gowns:
Which gown is for you the absolute top of the collection?
"It is difficult to say. They are all top. I cannot say that I would be more attached to one dress than to another. All are perfectly finished, I felt fantastic in all of them.
When you go on a concert tour, how many luxury dresses do you take with you?
"It depends what my repertoire is. If it is an ordinary tour, driving from one city to another with the same programme, I take a maximum of two, in case something were to happen."
In which material do you feel the best?
"Ivanka never chose any material in which I wouldn´t feel well. The best material is one that you can take out of the trunk, shake it out, put it on and go on stage".
