The Darling of all Women, Actor Robert Pattinson Arrived in Karlovy Vary
One of the last guests to come to the Karlovy Vary Film Festival was British actor Robert Pattinson. He is best known for his role in the vampire saga, Twillingt. He arrived at the 53. year of the film festival on Saturday. First he presented the film Rover (2014) and in the evening he is to accept award of the President of the festival, Jiří Bartoška. We asked the celebrities at the Karlovy Vary festival, which Czech actor they would put into the Twilight saga. Their responses can be found in the video below.
Pattinson caught attention of directing legends such as David Cronenberg (film Cosmopolis) or Werner Herzog (Queen of the Desert). In addition to vampire Edward Cullen from the Twilight Saga, Pattinson filmed movies Remember me, Water for Alephants and Bel Ami. In the City Cinema he presented a futuristic western Rover from 2014, where he starred alongside Guy Pearce.
The famous actor hides away from the fans
Fans have very much looked forward to the arrival of the famous British actor. Unfortunately his commitment to the people present was zero. After arrival by private aircraft at the Karlovy Vary Airport, he went to hotel Pupp using the back entrance, which has so far not been done by any film star. In the same manner he arrived at the City Cinema. According to foreign sources, the actor supposedly does not like too much interest in his person; that may be why he is so unwilling to communicate not only with journalists, but especially with the fans.
What award will Robert Pattinson take away with him?
The prize of the President of the festival was won by Pattinson for "significant cooperation on vital images of current directing cinematographers personalities"; such as David Cronenberg (film Cosmopolis) and Werner Herzog (Queen of the Desert).
According to critics, Pattinson so far scored the most last year with a crimi story Good Time by director duo Benny and Josh Safdie. The film in which he starred in the main role, was presented by him at the Cannes Film Festival. The story is about brothers who unsuccessfully robbed a bank. One on them was seized by the police and Pattinson´s character needs to find the money for his bail. However, this is not an easy task, he must get the money overnight; at any price.
Robert Pattinson
The 32-year old actor was born in London and started acting at the Barnes Theater Company. In addition to the vampire character, Edward Cullen from the Twilight saga, another known role of Robert Pattinson is the character of student Cedric Diggory from the film Harry Potter and The Goblet. He appeared in the new adaptation of the famous Maupassant´s Bel Ami, 2012; also, with David Cronenberg he filmed a dark futuristic vision, Cosmopolis (2012), presented also at the Karlovy Vary IFF, and the movie Maps to the Stars, 2014.
Alongside Nicole Kidman and James Franco the actor starred in a biographic romantic drama of Werner Herzog, Queen of the Desert, 2015, and in one of the main roles of adventurous movie, The Lost City of Z, 2016. This year's festivals of Sundance and Berlinale screened Damsel, 2018, by David and Nathan Zellner.
