For the 27th year you are invited to experience a luxury International Music Festival in Český Krumlov, ranking among the most important cultural events in the Czech Republic, which has at the same time become a stellar of the European cultural calendar; with a tradition going back to the year 1992. Each year it runs for three weeks in July and August.
This year it will be launched on 20. 7. 2018, and will last until 11. 8. 2018. The scope of music genres is huge! You will hear music from the 15th to 21st century and you can look forward to 22 music productions.
The luxurious festival will be opened up by an artistically conceived music féerie, participated upon by Cigánski Diabli, Christiane Noll and Hugh Panaro, Jiří Bárta, Sooyeon Kim and others. The second festival evening will belong to two world singer superstars, who are linked by the Metropolitan Opera and other prestigious stages, Polish tenor Piotr Beczał and Canadian soprano, Sondřa Radvanovsky. Other performers include Javier Perianes, Jiří Bárta, Broadway music stars, you will be able to appreciate a Baroque theatre, swing evening in Las Vegas style and Czech bands Čechomor and Lúčnica.
It has been 90 years since death of Leoš Janáček. The Wihan Quartet will commemorate him by a concert of his masterpieces. Cigánski Diabli, Keep Swinging will pay tribute to Leonard Bernstein and join in the celebration of a hundredth jubilee of our State.
One of the best orchestras in the category of ethno and world music, Cigánski Diabli, will present a dance-music performance, inspired by an opera by G. Bizet, entitled "Carmen Fantasy by Gypsy Devils", which luxuriously combines folklore with other musical genres, such as jazz, ethno and flamenco, adding an exceptional dose of virtuosity, which is an essential part of their artistic expression.
