You probably associate her with the Czech band Monkey Business. However, Tonya Graves is currently going her own way so that she can also be seen performing as part of the programme of the luxury festival of classical music, Prague Spring 2018.
Within the framework of the informal prologue of this year´s Prague Spring, Tonya Graves will once again show off her perfect voice. Song will be heard here from her album Back to Blues in which the singer returns to her music roots. The album is composed of songs that she sang with her distinctive voice and which are of great importance in her life.
If you like Tonya Graves, note in your diary the date of 10. May and come to Vinohrady Royal. She will be accompanied by guitarist Josef Flores and a bass guitarist, Martin Landa.
This is not the first time that Tonya Graves performed at a festival of classical and alternative music. Last year, for example, she sang with Daniel Bárta at the luxurious festival Strings of Autumn at Forum Karlin before the performance of a musical group Bang on a Can.
The charming singer and mother of two sons, Tonya Graves, was born in American town of Peekskill as the oldest of five children and has been living in the Czech Republic since 1995, where she came when she was 25 years old. At the beginning she worked as a waitress, followed by work in an English bookshop. For some time she was also engaged as an assistant in international schools. Although she does not come from a musical family, she made her way in the Czech Republic as a singer with a luxurious voice, finding fans of all ages.
She sang in Blues Band of Luboš Andršt, in 1997 she made an album with the band Liquid Harmony and then sang in the band Monkey Business. Although she flirted with many musical genres, she gradually returned to her beloved blues. This is obvious also from her second solo album from 2015 being called Back to Blues.
