The FW18/19 menswear collection was presented during the Milan fashion week simultaneously with that for women. They do not differ very much thematically, nor by their style, and both can be summed up as one of the most eccentric collections of the upcoming season.

Travel in time! 80´s and 90´s according to Gucci!

Do you sometimes feel the nostalgia of missing the fashion of 80´s and 90´s? You don´t need to any longer. Gucci offers several models that are as if they have fallen out of a fashion catalogue of the past decades. Disco jackets and suits decorated by sequins, colourful woollen jerseys, leather jackets, patterned shirts or grey and beige trousers with creases - all these pieces evoke retro.

On the other hand by their style some luxury coats perfectly fit into the modern 21st century.

Men too reached for some props and a classic fashion show was turned into an entertaining theatre

Absolutely crazy props, accessories and headgear dominated the FW 18/19 collection. And just as women, men reached for props from the kingdom of animals - the exotic chameleon, or the exact copy of the model´s very own head. Gucci thus took care of a luxuriously entertaining show, during which greater attention was often paid to the artefacts and extremely eccentric accessories than the garments themselves.

Can the luxury brand still surpass itself?

Finally, a question offers itself: Can Gucci, i.e. its creative director, Alessandro Michele, still surpass himself? If so, the SS 2019 collection will certainly represent another fashion revolution, where normal human imagination will not suffice!

Gucci and its total psycho hell for Autumn/Winter 18/19

Ouch, well, this work is really something else entirely. It reminds me a bit of the frightening newsreels about murders (...it happened some fifty years ago...) or the widely popular American Horror Story.

I am not kidding, but if I´d gone to see this spectacle, somewhere halfway through it I would have given up my plastic chair and run toward the EXIT! That really spook me out. Not only those artificial ´chopped-off´ heads carried by the models, but the music, the setting and what is worse - the fashion itself! Apart from the mint-green velvet jacket, which would have been appreciated perhaps only by the late Playboy King, Hugh Hefner, lying next to Marilyn Monroe, there was nothing wearable at all.

As I observed in most cases, the only thing missing was to spatter the models by blood. For example that plastic nude-coloured coat - seriously - that looked like an example of a garment to be worn by butchers. In my opinion absolute NO-NO to everything!
