When Carol Lim and Humberto Leon were thinking about how to approach the new collection, nobody expected them to come up with such a unique idea. This is to say that they decided to capture the duality of two Japanese muses.
The first is the composer, activist and charismatic dancer Ryuichi Sakamoto, who the designers call one of those people who capture all of the ideas of their work at fashion shows. The second muse, the beautiful Sayoko Yamaguchi, is like a luxurious living chameleon and is one of the most original international models we know.
The men’s collection was inspired by the style of Sakamoto, who has an incredible sense of individualism. This is evident in the luxurious range of beautifully cut suits with decorative features, several pockets and chain features. We have fallen in love with the distinctive colours, which for example include purple, red, a combination of these, but also green, blue and other colours used to decorate coats, jackets and trousers.
You will also fall in love with the luxury sporting caricaturist graphics which are reminiscent of computer games and motor racing. If you want to go back in time in your thoughts to your schooldays, then you will certainly succeed in doing so with some of the items in this luxurious collection.
The fashion show was held in the huge courtyard of the Lycée Camille-Sée secondary school in Paris, which boasts incredibly interesting luxuriously crafted paving from coloured bricks, creating exclusive visualisation. Apart from this, it was already very difficult to keep your eyes on the models alone while showing off the latest designs because a lot of colourful figures attracted the audience’s attention all around, climbing along the windowsills looking very mysterious.
Apart from the colourful men and women distributed around the sides of the building, we also liked the choreography. The Egyptian-Iranian singer Lafawndah, running around and performing acrobatics on elastic ropes to the rhythm of the songs.
