Luxury in Oriental style - that is how we could describe this outstanding hotel, which is located nearby the Place de Lices in the center of Saint-Tropez. All people who live in the city know this spectacular palace as well as the legend attached to it. The history of Pan Deï Palais dates back to 1820, when Jean-Francois Allard, an assistant of marshal Brune, was sent to exile after Napoleon’s defeat. He went to Egypt and Pakistan, where he became an army commander. While he and his army besieged the Himalaya fortress of Chamba, he desperately fell in love with Princess Bannu Pan Deï. In 1835, he ordered the construction of a spectacular house in his home town of Saint-Trope. The princess, by this time already his wife, gave birth to 5 of his children in the house.
This is how the beautiful and sensibly designed Oriental style of the luxurious hotel came to life. Pan Deï Palais is considered an oasis of tranquility in the center of the municipal jewel of the French Riviera.
