Donald Trump intends to end the war in Ukraine, as he stated after negotiations with the local government. They have already agreed to a ceasefire proposal. However, he also noted that it takes two to tango, therefore Russia, which has been occupying the country for more than three years, is also needed. The Syrian agreement with the Kurds, which has now been recognized by the United States, is considered one of the most significant political events in the country since the December downfall of long-term president Bashar Assad.
Trump wants to meet with Putin
US President Donald Trump hopes that Russia will agree to a 30-day ceasefire proposal and that a cessation of hostilities will occur in the coming days. The White House chief stated that he wants to speak with Russian President Vladimir Putin this week and that Americans will meet with Russian representatives. Ukraine, after meeting with the US delegation in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, said that it accepted the US proposal for a full 30-day cease-fire. Trump also said he would again invite Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to the White House. The meeting of the two presidents at the end of February at the principal residence in the US ended in a quarrel.
United States welcomed Syrian agreement with Kurds
The United States welcomed the agreement of Syria on the integration of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) led by Kurds into state institutions. The approval of Washington comes after Syria announced an agreement, giving the local government full control over the semi-autonomous region, which has been managed by the Kurdish-led alliance since 2015. The agreement concerns the merger of "all civilian and military institutions in northeastern Syria" into national management, including the airport and oil and gas fields, according to Al Jazeera.
Most of the world's most polluted cities are in Asia
According to the latest study, the majority of the 20 most polluted cities in the world are in Asia. 13 of them are located in India. The reason is the local rapid economic growth. Hundreds of millions of people live in overcrowded mega-cities. Another four cities are in neighboring Pakistan, one in China and another in Kazakhstan. The only city outside of Asia listed is Chad's capital N’Djamena. Chad was also identified as the country with the worst air pollution, reported by CNN.
Painting stolen from an Italian museum found in England
The 16th-century painting Madonna and Child by Antonio Solario, which was stolen more than 50 years ago, has been found. However, it has become the subject of a custody dispute between the current English owner and a small Italian museum in the town of Belluno. According to Christopher Marinello, a lawyer who specializes in reclaiming stolen and looted artworks, it was once acquired by Baron de Dozsa and brought to his Tudor manor house in Eastern England. It remains in the possession of Barbara de Dozsa, the former wife of the deceased baron. And this despite the fact that it is in the database of stolen art, which is maintained by the international police organisation Interpol, reported by AP.
