Volodymyr Zelenskyj met with Donald Trump in Washington unusually in a live video camera broadcast. The whole performance was even more spicy because it ended in a dispute and as we currently see, another act is taking place on the world stage. Donald Trump issued an order to stop further military aid to Ukraine. Years of Russian murder, accompanied by the bombing of civilian objects such as schools, the American administration wants to exchange for dubious alliance with Putin's regime. While champagne is popping in the Kremlin, Europe is opening money pipes.
While there has been consensus over the past three years that both the US and Europe will support peace talks in Ukraine, Trump is turning the wind in the sails. Many wonder, but he is only working on his election promise embodied in the statement about ending the war in 24 hours.
Ukraine cannot defend against Russia without foreign aid. This was true three years ago and still holds today. The only way to end the conflict is to serve Ukraine up to the criminal Kremlin on a silver platter. There is no other simple solution and never has been.
Zelensky can't appreciate Trump's ego, he has his own
Hundreds of thousands of dead Ukrainians did not give their lives for a corrupt future in poverty under the Russian flag. For many years, they have been fighting for the hope of aligning closer to Western structures and to do something about the bad state of things in the country. However, Trump wants his quick solution, for which he has now taken the biggest step. He will stop aid to Ukraine. What will the Russians think during peace negotiations?
Now they can be sure that no major concessions await them. Although Ukrainians are not and will not be toothless for a long time, the Russian position has unexpectedly improved in this step. But even Donald Trump at the helm of the most powerful country on the planet is not an all-powerful divine figure.
With his own originality, he tried to obtain neocolonialist concessions for mining minerals in Ukraine for American companies. Zelensky had no choice but to play by these notes, but when it unexpectedly turned out that Ukraine has something the Americans want, the Ukrainian president proceeded according to his principles to negotiate about security guarantees. But Trump wanted the minerals without promises for the future and surprise, Zelensky doesn't want to give them to him "just like that". Trump and Vance also expected to be respectfully bowed to for this piracy, which Zelensky, with death at his back, is not used to. A quarrel was born.
Sand soaked with the blood of hundreds of thousands of dead Ukrainians began to pour into Trump's super simple solution, who, at least according to Zelensky, don't like to see the significance of their fight being crushed by the ego of a narcissist in the White House. However, the pettiness of the American president is also an obstacle in his own mechanism. European leaders know it well and are trying to use it to their advantage. The British prime minister buttered up Trump and the president is now praising cooperation with the Europeans even as he criticizes them with gusto.

However, if Trump wants to make agreements with Europeans, it is hard to imagine that everything will play out according to the Russian scenario, which he himself submitted to Zelensky. In Europe, floodgates are beginning to open.
"The head of the European Commission Ursula von de Leyen has just announced a plan to rearm Europe. It includes loosening EU debt rules so that countries can spend more on defense, a new EU tool worth 150 billion euros, and the possibility to use cohesion funds for defense,"
Zdenka Trachtová, the Brussels correspondent for Czech Radio at X, informed about the fundamental changes at the European Union headquarters.
However, even debt money doesn't grow on trees, just like their colleagues from cohesion funds. The increase in debt is only possible up to the ability to repay interest, which today already means tens of billions annually for the Czech Republic. European grants will then be missing in the Czech public sector, typically in underfunded education, science, and research, where they have become an integral part of budgets.
The rediscovered love between Putin and Trump is likely driven by a vision of a world where Russia becomes an American ally in a conflict with China, at least his vice president JD Vance spoke about this tactic. The scent of appeasement, blowing in the breeze of American hugging with Russia, should blow away the fear about the shrinkage of bloated European wallets.
