The British family-owned Morgan Motor Company has been around since 1909 and prides itself in the hand-building of luxury automobiles. Its most famous model is the Morgan 4/4, which was introduced to the world in 1936 at the London Motor Show at the Olympia.
Last year, 80 years passed since the launch of production, which only saw a brief pause during World War II. The Morgan 4/4 is thus the longest-produced car model in the entire history of automobiles.
Last year, the company decided to surprise and delight its fans by introducing a new anniversary edition of these luxury cars to the market, with only 80 units available. This luxury edition was manufactured entirely by hand and presented a whole range of new functions. The designers found inspiration for them in the earliest automobiles.
The special elements include solid wheels with brass central locks and other exterior brass accents. The new 4/4 models are offered in three colours: Two Tone Green, Saxe Blue and Dark Red. The discreet sporty exhaust offers fine-tuned performance and an easily recognisable exhaust pipe. The brass grille, mohair roof and part of the boot cover distinguish this model even more from its luxurious predecessors.
However, future owners can customise the interior of the 4/4, choosing from a carefully selected palette of leathers and countless colour combinations of luxury carpeting. The brass décor covers look like jewels against the matte paint of the walnut-coloured dashboard. Several other details on the leather and door handles underscore the luxurious and refined look. A numbered commemorative plaque serves to remind each owner that their car is one of just 80 such unique automobiles.
The new-edition Morgan 4/4 models use a 1.6 litre Ford Sigma motor and are offered with right-hand or left-hand drive. The legendary car starts at £ 33,330 without tax.
