Chanel, Prada, Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci, Salvatore Ferragamo or Roberto Cavalli. What do these fashion brands have in common? Their love of wine and gastronomy. Can you guess which of them owns a restaurant or a cozy bakery and who decided to invest in vineyards? We aren't going to keep you in suspense for long. Here are the backup plans that fashion giants made in case they get tired of designing new collections.
The brand Chanel decided to invest in one of the world's most popular beverages - wine. In October last year, they bought the Domaine de l’Ile Porquerolles winery in the south of France and have recently started production of the first vintage. White 2019 boasts a juicy and ripe taste of white fruit with a hint of eucalyptus, while Rosé 2019 will delight everyone who loves full taste with a hint of exotic watermelon and misty tones of white flowers.
The brand Dolce & Gabbana brand also boasts their own wine. If you think that'd have to spend thousands of crowns on their product, you couldn't be more wrong. Vintage ROSA 2019 SICILIA DOC ROSATO, which stands out through its elegant aroma and minerality, can be bought for a pleasant 650 crowns.
Salvatore Ferragamo also decided to buy a vineyard some time ago. He became the executive director of the Tuscan wine brand IL BORRO and bought a plot of land with a respectable size of 1,700 hectares, which even includes a medieval Tuscan village.
Roberto Cavalli, on the other hand, owns an organic agriculture plant called Tenuta Degli Dei in Italy. In addition to luxurious vineyards, you can also find here horse breeding stations and breathtaking scenery.
Next time you head to Milan or London, be sure to visit the cozy bakery and pastry shop with a soul Marchesi 1824, the majority stake of which was bought by the Prada Group a few years ago. The establishment boasts a rich history and, as the name suggests, it has been serving customers since 1824. You would be a fool to miss this unique place with a luxurious pea-colored interior and an offer of delicacies that will make your mouth water!
The brand Gucci went even bigger: they decided to run the luxury restaurant Osteria da Massimo Bottura in Florence. It is named after the Italian Michelin-starred chef Massimo Bottur. At the beginning of this year, Gucci opened its very first American branch. It's located in the popular district of Beverly Hills.
