Manhattan Island in the State of New York will be able to boast another, new island next spring. Yes, as they say, anything is possible in America and it is a place where dreams become reality. A small paradise, which will be called "Little Island", is slowly but surely growing in the sight of the locals. From the depths of the Hudson River in the United States, an artificial island from Heatherwick Studio is being built in the sight of New Yorkers. Although its realization had to be suspended for a while due to the current pandemic crisis, significant changes can already be seen on the southwestern embankment of Manthattan.

Escape from a bustling metropolis
As the well-known saying goes, nature has the power to heal, and in the middle of the concrete jungle in New York, where one skyscraper leans against the other, this statement goes double. Us Pragues know what it's like, so it's no wonder that you get to meet more people in Stromovka or Havlíčkovy sady than on Wenceslas Square in the summer. The Americans probably feel the same. Little Island will serve as a refuge from stress and the hustle and bustle of the metropolis. People will be able to enjoy hundreds of species of trees, shrubs and plants on the new island. In collaboration with the growers, the team of creators carefully chose mostly flora that can survive both in unbearable heat and freezing winters. In addition to the beautiful view of the Manthattan skyline, visitors to the island will be able to enjoy cultural events throughout the year. They can look forward to an outdoor theater with a capacity of 700 seats or to music concerts and sample performances of independent American theaters.

The price of the Little Island project is around $ 250 million. The first visitors should be able to step on the earth of the new island for the first time in the spring of next year.
