Alza.cz is the largest e-shop in the Czech Republic with an annual turnover of 25 billion. People know the company mainly as a vendor of household appliances, phones and technology in general. But this titan adapts to market demand very quickly, which is why the management decided to broaden their product scope and start selling foodstuffs. However, before they could begin advertising the new category in their e-shop, nearly all supplies were already gone.
"It appears that the public's really hungry for online foodstuffs, because the moment we listed the new category Food, it was sold out,"
The warehouses should be filled with non-perishable foodstuffs on Monday and Tuesday. The company will be selling mainly items it can easily store, which means only packaged and durable food.
Alza had previously offered fitness products, be it energy drinks or other sports food supplements. Now they added flour, rice, canned food, legumes and more.
"Even though I can see that we still have some things officially in stock, it's not much, we'll simply have to restock. Moreover, it's not possible to order a single package of flour. Each package contains several pieces of a product. For example, instant goulash comes, I think, in four pieces per package and so on," the spokeswoman explained.
Of course, like other companies, Alza is facing issues with fast delivery, so you'll need to be a little patient and wait more than a couple of hours for your order to arrive. According to the management, everyone is doing their utter best to satisfy the needs of their customers.
