In the last few weeks there hasn´t been any other closer-observed couple nor event. The wedding of Prince Harry and American actress, Meghan Markle was put under a magnifying glass across the whole world and just a short while ago the enamoured couple said their YES. The ceremony itself then unveiled one of the biggest question marks. Which designer made the wedding gown?
The luxurious royal wedding took place in the Chapel of St. George at the Windsor Castle and the couple was married by the Right Reverend David Conner. The flower decorations were taken care of by floral designer, Philippa Craddock, who enjoyed the wealth of seasonal flowers especially from the gardens of the Crown Estate and Windsor Great Park. In the arrangements she used branches of European beech, birch and hornbeam, white roses, peony and foxglove.
The dress of the American actress has become one of the hottest topics. Details of the dress were not shared with the public until the last day, while speculators most often talked of the luxury English brand, Ralph & Russo. Upon arrival to Windsor, this issue has been finally answered. Meghan Markle put on the snow-white, sleek and very simple dress with 7/8 sleeves and a long train, designed by British designer Clare Waight Keller. Last year the latter became creative director of Givenchy house. The tender look of the bride was adorned by a long veil and a shimmering headband.
Up to shortly before the wedding it still hasn´t been absolutely clear who will lead the bride to the altar. The logical choice was according to tradition the bride´s father. However, prior to the event he was affected by health problems, thanks to which he was unable to attend the royal wedding. In the play thus remained the Mother of the bride, Doria Ragland, but that did not again quite comply with the royal rules - the couple has already breached a few! The one who in the end had the honour to lead the beautiful bride to the altar was Prince Charles.
The ceremony was attended by 600 guest with whom the couple has a personal relationship. Among those invited were for example Czech diet specialist often engaged by English stars, Gabriela Peacock, who takes care of the diet of Prince Harry and other family members, George Clooney with his wife, Victoria and David Beckham, another former member of Spice Girls, Emma Bunton, tennis legend Serena Williams, singers James Blunt and Elton John, popular presenter Oprah Winfrey, actor Idris Elba or brother of late Princess Diana, uncle Earl Spencer.
After the luxury ceremony the groom with his bride went for a ride though central London in a wedding carriage. However, this was not the end of the demanding yet a very special day! The groom with his bride and some of the invited guests were awaited by festive lunch at St. Goerge's Hall, held by Queen Elizabeth, with an evening reception at Frogmore House, organised by Prince Charles.
Will this fairy tale have a happy ending? Let ourselves be surprised; after all, one doesn´t read a book from the last page either. We wish the happy couple lots of love and all good things to come!
