On one hand, designer Jan Nehera surprised us with his FW18 collection. His show bore the spirit of luxurious, quality materials and classic colours (mainly white and black, but also camel and grey). At first glance, the collection breathes casual femininity, in places replaced with oversized style. The entire collection is suitable for elegant ladies who love sophisticated garments, premium materials and oversized items, which are still in fashion.
The entire FW18 collection by Jan Nehera devoted considerable attention to luxurious coats and jackets, which are an essential wardrobe item in spring and autumn weather. The selection is truly vast. Every woman must be able to choose the right piece which corresponds to her style. The collection features long trench coats, shorter heavier coats, wrap-around coats with lapels, oversized feather jackets and vests. But the shoes which accessorised the outfits on the catwalk were not impressive at all.
We loved the luxurious sweaters in the collection, which were well-cut and wearable. The large knitted shawls were beautiful, keeping the wearer warm while matching well with the outfit. Unfortunately, this can hardly be said of all the pieces. Some of the loose trousers and wrap-around skirts looked rather strange, and we doubt many women would choose to wear these garments. This was in fact a disappointment for us, because Nehera has always managed to delight us with this sense for feminine clothing with a touch of elegance. However, his fashion is now directed towards a more casual style of dressing.
Probably because oversized fashion or unconventional cuts prevail at luxurious global fashion shows, the Czech designer chose to stick to the trend. Loose clothing is comfortable and conceals any imperfections, but what about women who want to show off their luxurious curves? With the exception of a few items, they don’t have much chance with the FW18 collection. In our view, the best outfit is the second one, with original elegant trousers, shirt and jacket.
Fashion designer Jan Nehera presented an expensive collection with all the flair of a grey wallet from the Vietnamese market. Trust me, I tried really hard to find any positive aspects while watching the show attentively. But except for the beige turtleneck with the huge A-line skirt and some sort of mini purse at the wait, there was nothing wearable.
And by the way, paying 1000 euros for an outfit that makes you look like a homeless person and garbage bag at the same time??! No, Lady Ornella would never wear something like that!
But the epitome if it all was the outfit worn by one model, with some sort of grey cape with an elastic that was actually arranged over her head. So my idea is as follows: one ordinary day, Nehera, bored to death, went to buy some furniture at IKEA and saw a clever elastic bed sheet for 700 crowns. And thus was born an idea for 1000 EUR, to “break through” with a piece of fabric. Let’s hope things turn out BETTER next time!
