Musk's team believes in themselves

Entrepreneur Elon Musk and an association of investment firms want to take control of OpenAI, which is behind the language model with AI ChatGPT elements. The new American president announced the introduction of a 25 percent duty on steel and aluminum imports to the US.

Elon Musk submitted the highest bid to buy ChatGPT

So far, the highest bid to buy OpenAI, the parent company of ChatGPT, has been submitted by Elon Musk in a group of investors, willing to pay 97.4 billion dollars, or 2.4 trillion crowns. The brand value is estimated around 100 billion dollars. OpenAI's CEO Sam Altman, however, rejected the offer and instead proposed buying social network X, which he called by its original name, Twitter. OpenAI was originally created because its creators believed that artificial general intelligence poses a serious threat to humanity, CNN reported. Musk co-founded OpenAI in 2015 along with companies like Microsoft and Thrive Capital.

Trump imposes tariffs on all imports of steel and aluminum into the US

US President Donald Trump has announced the introduction of a 25 percent tariff on imports of steel and aluminum into the US, with no exceptions. He also signed the relevant decree, wrote the portal Ceskenoviny.cz. The tariffs should concern all countries and would be beyond the scope of already imposed tariffs. This marks a new phase of the trade war, led by the American president against the rest of the world. The European Union will respond if the United States imposes tariffs on steel and aluminum imports, as already announced by the European Commission in advance.

Mediators of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza anticipate a collapse of the agreement

The mediators of the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas fear a potential collapse of the agreement. The Palestinian terrorist movement stated shortly before that Israel is not taking the agreement seriously, and announced that it will not release any more Israeli hostages until further notice.

Representatives of Hamas told mediators that due to President Donald Trump's plans to remove Palestinians from the Gaza Strip, there are no longer any guarantees from the United States. The mediators therefore postponed further negotiations until they receive a clear signal from Washington about the intention to continue with the agreement, stated the website Ceskenoviny.cz.

Saudi Arabian authorities release woman sentenced for tweets

Salma al-Shehab, a mother of two who was sentenced in Saudi Arabia in 2022 to 34 years in prison for her tweets, has been released. Her sentence had previously been reduced to four years in prison with a four-year suspension. Al-Shehab was arrested during a family holiday on January 15, 2021. This happened just a few days before she planned to return to the UK, where she had been living up to that point. She is a member of the Saudi Arabian Shiite Muslim minority, which has long complained about systematic discrimination in the Sunni kingdom, reported the agency AP.
