Add a piece of Bora Bora or Tahiti to your wardrobe

Michael Kors stayed in Tahiti and Bora Bora, and they became the inspiration for his S/S 2018 collection. The wave of tropical attire, mainly in ocean blue, exudes an exotic feeling which you can add to your wardrobe. Dresses, shirts, coats and scarves shaped like Hawaiian leis, beach bags and comfortable flip-flops. It looks like a decent supply of clothing and accessories for hot summer days, a stroll through the city or warn spring evenings.

Straight from the sunny beach to a fancy dinner – in flip-flops!

While some articles bore an air of optimism and exoticism, others offered elegance, simplicity or luxurious glitter. Michael Kors clearly stated what direction his collection has taken:

“No tight dresses, no heels, no evening gowns.” - Michael Kors

And he kept his word. The models who brought out dresses suited for a luxurious dinner were wearing flip-flops or heelless black strappy sandals in simply style.

Show full of Hollywood and modelling stars

The Michael Kors fashion show was full of famous faces. The front rows were occupied by Hollywood actresses Nicole Kidman, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Naomi Watts, and the fashion designers also invited the hottest models of the moment onto the runway - Kendall Jenner, Bella Hadid, Kate Upton and plus-size model Ashley Graham.

Michael Kors and his tie-dyed madness

Good lord, how I hate tie-dyeing! If it does have to exist, it has to be damned original. In my view, this was a boring fashion show with all sorts of long skirts and oversized jackets.

The only thing I found interesting were the beach outfits. Sure, the mini skirt / maxi trousers with a high waist literally copy the style of swimming suits in the Fifties: the kind made so famous by Marilyn Monroe. But they are appealing nevertheless! I say YES. But I wouldn’t go out in public in the rest.

Why? It’s simply a mix of the dullest clothing that you can find for instance at New Yorker and similar chains for a few bucks. So why spend more money on something that everybody is already wearing anyway?
