Pierpaolo Piccioli, who has had a long career as a designer of luxury accessories at Fendi has again confirmed that even in the creation of Valentino collections he will regularly focus his attention in this direction. After sneakers with zig-zag stitches and totem symbols that were the hit of FW 2018, he came up with an indispensable accessory, which cannot be missed out of any men´s wardrobe - a hat and a peaked cap. But which type to reach for so as not to miss the mark?
In the question of headgear there are no boundaries. On the contrary, it applies that the bolder, the more vibrant, the better. The luxury collection of SS 2019 is altogether rich in colours, patterns, logos as well as motifs. So if you reach for sunny yellow, pink, red, camouflage, stripes, dip-dyed of just classic black, you will still be following the new trend.
It does not happen often that top designers would agree to such a great extent. However, during the fashion week we were able to see so many street-inspired collections that it is already clear what will be the trend of the next season. So if you are also a fan of sporty fashion, the season SS 2019 is made for you.
Even though the SS 2019 is full of unique models in the form of crocheted tops, tennis shoes decorated with feathers or luxury jumpsuits, we nevertheless just love the classic - black & white outfit of sporty elegance composed of a black jacket, a white T-shirt with a logo, black trousers with white piping and a black baseball cap. And what is the must have piece of the next season, which WE think you definitely must have? Jeans with up-turned trouser legs, which will turn you into a mischievous teenager with the necessary dose of manliness.
Playful street fashion with a hint of rapper style from the 1990's AKA Tupac is back. Although I was very surprised myself, the fashion show amused me and I a was even assured in that the Valentino fashion house as one of very few can create casual fashion. And that´s it!!!
If I cross out those ostrich feathers in plimsolls, which I would rather not like to see on heterosexual men, it is mostly a kind of "chill". Black and white sweatpants, a white shirt, the Valentino logo, in combination with a laid-back baseball cap and white sneakers. In my opinion it is precisely this model that sums up the entire collection. It is simply sporty elegance of a new era. And how about to go in something like that for example to work? I think it is entirely all right.
And it wouldn´t be me if I did not find some “outsider” at this show. This designation was this time round definitely saved for the Afro-American model in a furry pink hat and a jacket with girly flowers. For goodness sake don´t let anybody wear that!
