The Mercedes-AMG project is based on a simple principle. It combines stunning racing performance and perfect Formula 1 hybrid technology. Every detail of the construction enhances the specific performance of the vehicle. Take, for example, the cockpit that is deliberately set forward, or large wheel arches. Flat LED headlights fit smoothly into the bodywork contours of the vehicle.
The dynamic roof has an air inlet that neatly connects with the vertical "shark fin". The exhaust has a large round outlet. The hybrid will be powered by more than 1,000 horsepower at a maximum speed of more than 350 km/h.
The highly functional design adds distinctive character to the vehicle. A car you will not mistake for any other. An ergonomically shaped interior with minimalist styles and innovative materials, Mercedes AMG Projekt One! Racing seats indicate an unmistakable connection to racing car types. The seat surfaces are made of luxurious napa leather in gray. Yellow contrast is a characteristic feature of AMG.
The luxury car uses a 1.6-liter V6 engine, the same as the formula, including cogged wheelbase gearing and pneumatic valve control. It has also copied from the formula world the turbocharger design. The drive chain also includes an MGU-K electric motor that is connected to the crankshaft. It has a power of 120 kW and fulfills the same role as we are used to conventional hybrids. This means: recharging fast and storing energy in a li-ion battery to be used for accelerating.
The luxury car will cost around 60 million and 275 pieces will be made. Lewis Hamilton, who was directly involved in the development, will receive one of them.
