The Mělník wine

The Mělník wine tasting has special charm

We enjoyed not only the ´fruits´ of the wine sector, but also various gastronomic specialities, demonstrations of traditional crafts and the accompanying varied programme. The young wine of 2017 is easy on the palate due to lower content of alcohol and fine fresh taste. Thanks to a bit of acid which is harmoniously accompanied by an adequate residual sugar content, their taste is enticing by a variety of fruity and flowery aromas. On offer there were selections to be tasted from excellent wine growers such as Lobkowicz, Kraus, Château Mělník etc.

As tradition has it...

The opening ceremony was taken care of Mělník knights, by the traditional salve, followed by a short historical show.

Luxurious Mělník with its even more exclusive vineyards

The royal town of Mělník became famous as a centre of the agricultural region predominantly through cultivation of vines and the annually held wine harvest celebrations. The impressive and visible from afar city dominant is the luxury château and the tower of the Church of St Peter and Paul. Visitors are attracted to Mělník by panoramic views from the castle tower, from which the confluence of the Vltava and Elbe rivers may be seen, as well as the legendary Říp Hill and the Central-Bohemian Highlands. Other popular areas of the Mělník region include romantic Kokořín area, with its luxury nature, sandstone rocks and of course the originally Gothic castle rebuilt into a Baroque château of Mělník.
