Underwear is an important part of our everyday lives. People say that our choice of underwear can say many things about us. A woman can feel confident thanks to it, but also comfortable. We bring you inspiration from the runway, where the well-known designer Tereza Vu set the highest standard for new fashion trends.
Most-born Tereza Vu was drawn to sewing since young age and so it's no surprise that her talent was noticed by the professors from the famous British school, London College of Fashion, which she successfully finished. Her brand specializes in sophisticated and elegant lingerie and swimwear. Her name entered the public consciousness in 2013 and since then she's been a part of the Czech designer elite.
The identifying elements of her collection are elegance, sophistication and cheekiness. She draws inspiration from various historical periods, she likes fashion from the 20th century. In her SS20 collection she presented pieces that looked very timeless thanks to their design.
The models, who wore animal masks, showed off not only their beauty, but also sensuality. Tereza always chooses her materials carefully and with great care, though she most often gravitates towards lace, silk or organza. Even though the collection was mostly comprised out of pieces in snow white color, it also introduced three bold, dark models, that weren't only exciting to men.
Our staff was most fascinated by the blue lace embroidery combined with silk and black garters. This model can surely not only set the mood for a classy, celebratory evening, but also get your partner going after a hard day at work.
Another piece that piqued our interest were dark blue high-waist lace panties combined with a bra with white spaghetti straps. This model would certainly be great for everyday wear, whether it be under a shirt or a dress. We have our favorites, how about you?
Tereza Vu is known in the Czech fashion scene for designing and making lingerie. I'll admit, I haven't worn any of her pieces yet, and looking at the pieces from her latest collection, I feel that I'm making a big mistake.
She introduced her SS2020 collection at MBPFW, dominated by pastel colors gradually blending into darker tones of deep blue and black. First and foremost I'd like to applaud her choice of models. The underwear was worn by "traditional" fashion week models, on whom it looked simply gorgeous, but also a few models of sizes other than XS. This variability and diversity is something that I love at fashion shows, especially when curvy models look as good as at Tereza Vu's show.
The runway even featured a little girl in a pink gown and a few kind of creepy bunnies, who were actually in good contrast with the light materials that the wire half-masks were worn with. I was most fascinated by the delicate models at the start of the show that appeared almost ethereal. I think it's almost a pity to buy a piece like this and then wear a shirt over it. But generally, it is normal to show underwear these days, so many of these models could be worn with a tight pencil skirt, for example, or could be left peeking from inside a blazer.
What caught my attention with most of the models is how perfect a garter belt can look. I don't think many women get to wear something like that in daily life (personally I often don't even wear a bra..:), but it's actually such an amazingly feminine element. So personally, if I wanted to invest in something, it'd probably be a nice bodysuit, let's say. I definitely have to say that I like it and I admire that there's somebody in the Czech Republic who makes world-class lingerie, and Tereza Vu is a master of it. The collection looks very lovely and I think that every man would be delighted to see his partner at home in something like this.
