One of the most influential fashion designers, Karl Lagerfeld, who died last February at the age of 85, continues to inspire other creators. Although Lagerfeld himself was active in the fashion industry, his style is copied across all fields. That's why Toyota decided to honor his memory by creating a limited series of cars, the C-HR model. The car honors Karl's characteristic style, which is why the black and black body is decorated only with subtle white elements.
The black body contrasts with the pearl white roof and rear-view mirrors. The car also features other white accents - front and rear spoilers, sill stickers, front pillar stickers and the lines that run from the rearview mirrors all the way to the rear pillars. There, you can see the black Karl Lagerfeld logo on a white background. This logotype also appears in other parts of the body and interior. The effect is emphasized by black 17-inch aluminum wheels.
The interior design is also in black and white. The two-tone leather seats form a single unit with the black-and-white dashboard, the lower part of which is lined with a white plastic cover.
Standard equipment of the limited series includes LED rear lights, a smart key, the Start button, dual-zone air conditioning, a large color display between the alarms, a seven-inch touch screen on the center console and a package of Toyota Safety Sense active safety systems.
The car is only available in Thailand in this edition and it's based on the Toyota C-HR Hybrid 1.8 with equipment in the highest version. Only 200 cars have been produced in the Karl Lagerfeld edition. The owner of each of them will also receive original accessories from the Karl Lagerfeld brand with a total value of approximately EUR 1,400, including a suitcase, handbag, a hat and a key ring.
Karl Lagerfeld has been the artistic director of the Chanel fashion house since the 1980s. However, he was also the creative head of the Fendi brand, and founded his own brand called simply Karl Lagerfeld. The German fashion designer and photographer has developed his individual, easily identifiable style, which is dominated by black and white. The tall, stiff standing collar of his white shirt became his hallmark, as did his long white hair and black leather gloves.
