She sings, acts, dances, designs and models. There seems to be nothing in this world that this exotic beauty can’t do. Jennifer Lopez is the new Guess Girl for the luxurious S/S 2018 collection, and she brings a real dose of sensuality to the proceedings.
Although this stunner has already celebrated her 48th birthday, she sure doesn’t look like it. A superb figure, no wrinkles and a perfect face. All these are features that Paul Marciano himself was surely aware of when he called Jennifer Lopez with an offer of cooperation. She was thrilled to accept and the result is a luxurious and sensual campaign, in which the former Guess Girl transforms into more of a sensual Guess Woman!
The luxury photos were taken by successful photographer Tatiana Gerusova, who strove to capture the pop star’s personal essence and style. The results of her hard work are photographs with a touch of retro and sensuality.
One of the reasons why Paul Marciano chose Jennifer Lopez for the campaign was that she symbolises the Guess Girl in a unique way. An iconic, sensual and perfect artist, whose influence grows with increasing life experience, ideally matched the fashion designer’s vision.
And what does Jennifer Lopez have to say about the successful collaboration? She expressed immense delight, because she has loved the Guess brand for years and said in her statement:
I personally really like Jennifer Lopez. She’s the kind of friendly girl next door that essentially can’t upset anybody. I certainly have to mention the fact that the way she looks for her age is absolutely incredibly, and undoubtedly every woman’s dream. Nevertheless, I don’t really like the vast amount of retouching that photographer Tatiana Gerusova applied to the photos.
Pardon me, but not even infants at the hospital are that wrinkle-free! There are limits. Botox and Photoshop are a girl’s “best friends” but everything should be used in moderation. Jennifer linked the campaign for Guess with her new song “Amor, Amor, Amor” which is entirely in Spanish. I think this was a good move, because Jenny’s style mixed with Guess has a strong “Latino” charge.
Of all the outfits, the one I like most is where Jennifer is wearing the checkered shorts, wide black belt and buttoned-down white shirt. Sexy, provocative and chic. On the contrary, the outfit with the leather shorts, crop-top with the Guess logo and tonne of gold chains is totally off the mark, and it looks cheap to me even in the video. And I prefer not to comment at all on the overalls, which look like the “prelude to an adult film”.
