Young designer Iris Van Herpen established her own brand in 2007 and already four years later began regularly to present luxury haute couture collections at fashion weeks. The preparation of such star models requires a unique treatment of the materials, the use of advanced technologies and fine-tuning of the minutest details so that everything is exactly according to your idea. And it was no different in the preparation of the latest 3D Collection AW 2018 which is literally dazzling!
The fact that the high-end models of the creative designer are literally works of art cannot be doubted. When looking at them you forget all the issues concerning practical use, concentrating only on the seamless silhouette, and the perfect synergy of shapes and materials.
Do the models of Iris Van Herpen seem to you to be too extravagant? What nonsense! If you leave aside the strange head accessories, you are left with fine models that probably won´t be used for the usual afternoon stroll, indeed, that is not what haute couture is for, but on the red carpet or a luxury party you will be a perfect star! We say a healthy dose of extravagance.
Luxury models of Iris Van Herpen are great favourites of even the biggest stars. The list of clients of the talented designer includes greats such as Naomi Campbell, Cate Blanchett, Solange Knowles, Björk, Natalia Vodianova, Cara Delavingne, Daphne Guinness or Miley Cyrus. When taking a closer look at the divine delights there is no doubt that this list will keep on growing in the near future.
What has for me been to this day a completely unknown fashion designer, Iris Van Herpen at the Paris Fashion Week showed something quite unprecedented. In my view this is a matter right on the borderline of arts and fashion. I must say that one will not see anything similar at another fashion show…
At first glance it seemed that I am looking at live jellyfish attached to the fashion models. Although it is almost beyond belief, is that so weird, that one cannot help liking it. Namely that completely transparent "jelly" dress concealing only what is strictly necessary...even though one feels like walking around completely naked. Can you imagine the unbelievable scandal that such a dress would cause?! I can, and I would therefore easily put it on for example for the classic Opera Ball. Because to me, to be different is one of the most important things of all!
Then I was also astonished by the pearl-grey dress with creases, finished by striking waves. From my point of view an absolutely wearable piece for a formal evening. This touch of futurism must simply impress any fashion enthusiast on this planet. That´s the way Iris!
