Practical design, beautiful colours and a surprising material!
The new collection of summer shoes by Ipanema surprised me not only because it is made from recyclable materials, but also because it is so practical. It is clear from the colours that the shoes are multifunctional, because transparent or powder pink basically go with everything. Just look at Kim Kardashian West and her millions of pairs of transparent shoes!
But I was very surprised that waste can be used to produce such pure colours. I really like the powder pink flip-flops with the raised sole around the toes. These protect you from stubbing your toes on an inconspicuous stone on the beach. I still remember how I ran to the hotel first aid room with my bleeding foot covered in sand while wearing ordinary flip-flops .... a horrible experience! But this model by Phillipe Starck is the perfect solution.
The only thing I would be concerned about in this collection of shoes is the point where the straps are very thinly connected to the sole. It seems that even tripping slightly would cause the straps to break. And it is practically certain that I will be tripping over something, but that’s what happens when you are a an ungainly giraffe.....
