Neither underwear nor an evening gown should be boring – and the luxurious La Perla fashion house agrees. They’ve followed this advice in their new extravagant SS 2018 collection for women!
You might have heard that simplicity is beauty, but the luxurious pieces of La Perla seem to contradict this: they are dominated by playfulness, combinations of materials and interesting designs! The designer Julia Hart is definitely not afraid of taking risks and her goal is clear: show the unexpected! And she succeeded: we all watched in awe. Did you too?
Julia did the best she could by letting the models speak for themselves. This means we could fully appreciate the lightness, romantism, sensuality as well as the luxurious details in the lace.
Cocktail and evening dresses inspired by underwear are full of luxurious decorations, details and color. The powder-blue long gowns with Chantilly laces are so elegant and prominent that you’ll fall in love with them on first sight. The tunic is also fine and feminine. Haart also strived to charm you using beautiful and luxurious blazers with a built-in bra, combined with a cigarette and highly comfortable pants.
The collection is full of luxurious details such as laces and interesting patterns. Some models include see-through fabrics which show a bit of skin without feeling vulgar. Tufts made of decent beads are also beautiful. Flowery patterns are suitable for everyday wearing, while leather jackets and colorful pieces are a good choice for the evening. You’ll also fall in love with the extraordinary materials used in the collection, including silk, lace, satin, chiffon, tulle, leather and cotton. Top colors include purple, black, white, light blue, marble blue and even purple.
I’ve been a fan of the La Perla brand already as a child. I remember how my mom always brought beautiful underwear from Paris, and I secretly tried it on in her room. Nothing much changed for this brand to this day.
The first half of the collection felt more or less like a recap – full of fashion elements from the nineties, and that’s not really my cup of tea. But as soon as I saw the dresses with beautiful laces or stones, I was awe-struck: that’s it! The second half of the fashion show was top-notch.
For instance, I loved the white long sewn evening dress with a solid décolletage, suitable especially for women with larger breasts (guess why…). They are an exemplary piece, suitable for the red carpet – for instance for the IFF in Karlovy Vary or a luxurious party. Simply spectacular!
