Go Naked! Paris Wants to Become the World Naturist City!
Paris - a city of love (and nudity)
People travel to Paris for love, luxurious sightseeing, romantic atmosphere, excellent dining and shopping. Lately there is another reason, this often being a destination of admirers of nudism. You would go naked into a restaurant or a museum? Paris is quite tolerant in this respect, providing nudists with options that they don´t have anywhere else!
This year it is too late for the bois
At the end of September and beginning of October 2017 a park was chosen in the eastern part of Paris, specifically in the Bois de Vincennes, where for one month there was a test run of a specially-created nudist zone. This year on 24. June a few hundred nudists got together here to celebrate the annual Paris day of nudism. The event was started with Yoga and continued by a day-long picnic.
Currently this zone is no longer only an experiment, but is normally accessible to nudists, in the period from mid-April to mid-October. It spreads over an area of 7,300 m2, which is open daily from 8:00 to 19:30.
“Naturism is a way of life in harmony with nature, characterised by practice of communal nudity with the intention to encourage respect to others and the environment", says the International Naturist Federation.
Welcome to the museum, entry forbidden if dressed!
Quite a unique event took place in Paris this year. Gallery Palais de Tokyo opened its door to nudists for one day. A special two-hour tour was prepared for them prior to regular opening hours so that they would not mix with dressed visitors. It is a first gallery in Paris, which has enabled such a thing. The event which was participated upon by 161 nudists was a success; however, the museum has not yet made any announcement whether and when it should be repeated.
It was a part of the growing efforts to develop the French community of nudists supporting development of activities without clothing. In Paris there are 88,000 nudists in total and in France as a whole around 2.6 million.
Relaxing dinner or a party o´naturel
In Paris you can also find the first naturist restaurant in France. It is actually called O'Naturel and is owned by two brothers, twins, who simply saw a niche in the market. The restaurant not only attracts members of the naturist movement, but also curious people who have the courage to try new things, even without any clothes on!
Although devotees of nudism already have a restaurant, Paris is one step ahead! This year it is to introduce several nudist clubs. Do you think that that´s over the limit?
