Spring and summer are months of joy, happiness, good-moods, colours and playfulness. That is why we are bringing up a peek at fun avant-garde watches that combine the worlds of haute watchmaking, of fine arts and of luxury design.
Fiona Krüger has a tremendous passion for craftsmanship. That is why she seeks for the right people for whom design and quality come in first place. For her the key to success is cooperation. She cooperates with suppliers and with Swiss craftsmen whose work is not superficial and those who live by their work, following trends, using new designs and luxurious materials, and together they try to push the boundaries of this traditional industry.
In regard to the design of her skull-shaped products Fiona was inspired by the Mexican Dia De Los Muertos (The Day of the Dead). Any of you who have been in Mexico can confirm that this country is full of skulls: colourful, cheerful, small or large, and that you will encounter them virtually everywhere. They are often chosen as souvenirs.
The Day of the Dead is the most important holiday in Mexico. Some people put on skeleton costumes and their colourful skulls are visible at virtually every step. The dances of Death are merry and they are accompanied by both brisk and rhythmic Mexican music.
Fiona Krüger has combined the related topic of time and mortality into one entity and thereby has created luxurious and original watch designs for her SKULL Collection that first saw the light of day in 2013. They are available in a variety of colours and in some models the skulls move their jaws while others are glowing in the dark. Such watches are not only functional, but above all constitute a decorative and fun item on anybody’s wrist.
