It is as if SS 2019 endeavoured to find a balance between minimalism and eccentricity. We would like to introduce to you the luxury collection sub-headed Dualism as a Sign of DNA Fendi in which the main role is played by the dual brand FF logo and the iconic black-and-brown stripes in the Pequin pattern.
The fashion show started at the moment when the premises were shrouded in darkness, gradually to be illuminated by classy light installations. From behind a red arch models entered the catwalk dressed in luxury black. The screenplay could read "from darkness into the light”. After a series of bolder colours, including deep red, salmon pink, burgundy, green or yellow, the brand has also presented models of earthy hues, while the show was concluded by snow-white models.
The top-class light installations were taken care of by Italian artist Nico Vascellari, friend Delfiny Delettrez, luxury jewellery designer and daughter Silvia Venturini Fendi. The Italian creative has used his interest in playful anagrams and mythological views to transforms FENDI to FIEND and ROMA to AMOR. The surfaces were further embellished by thematic illustrations in the form of a daemon, candles or a hand.
During the SS 2019 season you will win, if you place your bet on the combination of minimalism and extravagance. You can put on for example a simpler top or bottom and supplement it by a second piece of bolder colours and patterns as the Fendi fashion house did.
You have free rein in the question of accessories. You can sport a bulky practical bag into which you can cram all your necessities, a stylish backpack or a luxury bum bag. The latter is now a must have piece of a men´s wardrobe.
Yes, almost all of us know that we can basically celebrate the fact that at the Milan Fashion Week there appeared pieces in the collection that are wearable in daily life. But then there is a question whether we really want to meet men in models in which they might a bit resemble train dispatchers…
The outfit that as the only one doesn´t upset me is the completely black suit with a black shirt (the one with a beige collar) and a giant leather bag. Although the gentlemen will look in it like the gangster from Charlie's Angels (2000), played by Sam Rockwell in the legendary red sun glasses, but so what, it has its own magic, too!
And the greatest evil of the show? Certainly all those models featuring shorts. Most of all I was repelled by those disgustingly brown ones in combination with a jacket strewn with red checks: simply awful. I know that in this country the greatest fan of the Fendi brand is Monika Babišová. But the idea to see Andrej in something like that... Well, fortunately, thanks to his work engagements there is no danger of this madness… sigh of relief...
