Luxury clothing, interesting cuts and, of course, quality materials are for most of us the most important points in the selection of clothing. Nowadays, more and more people analyse also in what conditions the fashion is created, pondering about the environmental impact of the fashion industry. Fashion houses thus look for ways to help protect our planet and be as environmentally friendly as possible.
Fashion is part of life of each of us. Trends are constantly changing and new clothes are produced all the time. The production of the fashion industry is enormous and the excess has negative consequences for society as well as the environment. Sustainable fashion stands on the principles of responsibility, ethics, recycling, and support of local production, fair trade and traditional craft procedures.
Even the popular fashion designer of luxury wedding dresses, Vivienne Westwood, belongs to environmental activists; her motto is:
In addition to her, the "movement" for saving the environment was also joined by fashion designer, Stella McCartney, who decided to help our beautiful world to be a little better.
The fact the fashion brand of H&M recently boasted collections promoting sustainable fashion was perhaps already noticed by everyone here. This year´s luxury collection of H&M Conscious Exclusive was already the seventh in a row and presented beautifully finished women’s clothing, underwear, footwear and accessories. H&M promotes fashion and luxurious materials that make sense. This year it has therefore introduced bio wool, organic cotton, bio silk, material TENCEL™ and recycled polyester also two new materials - recycled silver and ECONYL®, which is a 100% reclaimed nylon fibre produced from fishing nets and other nylon waste.
In addition to sustainable fashion the Swedish fashion brand also comes with other innovations. One of them is metal straws. Are you heading his year to the music festival Colours of Ostrava? Stop at the H&M block that will allow you to make a good deed. Get your personal metal straw or learn a few tricks with your old straw which you like and don´t want to throw away.
"Me and my girlfriends have planned this year's festival as a girl´s ride. We look forward to the great music program, but certainly also the imaginative recycling workshops in the H&M zone. The idea to only use metal straws totally excited us and we would like to support this idea." said Renata Langmannová, who closely works with the fashion brand and supports its ideas.
