Culture is getting another financial infusion as part of the support program for its rescue. The Minister of Industry, Trade and Transport Karel Havlíček confirms that the government has increased financial resources to support culture with regard to the current coronavirus situation. The financial budget for the support of culture was increased by 1 billion crowns. The state is trying to save the cultural sector, which has suffered significant losses due to a number of restrictions, and it is therefore increasing compensation for artists in 3 compensation phases.
"Coinciding with the necessary restrictions, we are immediately launching or continuing compensation for the affected sectors. Entrepreneurs in living culture will thus be able to continue to use the COVID - Culture program, for which we have managed to secure another billion crowns. We will announce the 3rd call in January next year,"
said Minister of Industry, Trade and Transport Karel Havlíček.
Eligible peope can can apply for subsidies from the COVID-Culture program through the information system available through the official website of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

Negotiations on the state budget for next year are dragging on. Today, the Chamber of Deputies will continue to discuss the state budget for 2021, but it is not yet clear whether the MEPs will get to the final vote. Should the Chamber of Deputies fail to approve the budget, the state would have to operate according to this year's budget. The Ministry of Finance has already announced that it is preparing for this situation.

Russia's largest airline Aeroflot has come up with its own solution for dealing with passengers who don't want to wear mouth and nose protection during the flight. To ensure the safety of passengers on board during the flight, it is mandatory to wear protective masks. The only exception is when eating and drinking. In the event that some passengers do not follow these instructions, special seats will be reserved for them, on which they will be placed during the flight, so as not to endanger the safety of others.
"It is very important for us to ensure the safety of all passengers,"
spokeswoman Julia Spivakova said in a statement.

Users of the social networks Facebook and Instagram will experience some changes in using the apps. Due to a change in the rules of personal data protection in Europe, some functions are to be deactivated. From 21 December 2020, the applications will be subject to EU rules, known as the ePrivacy Directive. Facebook has therefore decided to turn off several interactive options and offer only a basic messaging service until it can reintroduce add-ons. The restricted features will include, for example, group chat polls, and users will no longer be able to set nicknames for friends in Messenger. Basic functions such as text messaging and phone calls won't be affected.
That's all from us today. And since it's Friday, we would like to emphasize a quote from German scientist George Christoph Lichtenberg:
"Nothing is more conducive to peace of mind than not having any opinion at all."
