American singer Demi Lovato doesn't sugercoat things and publicly criticizes influential people who're downplaying the measures against the spread of the coronavirus. North Korean leader Kim Jong-un was also rather tart in his speech. Despite negative developments in the country, he plans to pump funds into the local army. And what can we look forward to in the coming years after the end of the COVID-19 pandemic? For example, the renovated Colosseum in Rome!

At the congress of the ruling Korean Labor Party, the 36-year-old North Korean leader said he would take the country's military capabilities "to the next level". He didn't specify what exactly this would mean in practice. However, it can be expected that expenditure on the army and its equipment will increase. Kim stated that in order to ensure a peaceful environment, it is necessary to strengthen the state's defense capabilities.
Kim plans to expand North Korea's military capabilities despite the country facing the deepest crisis since he came to power nearly a decade ago. Harsh international sanctions are still in place and pressure on nuclear disarmament is increasing. Even the groundbreaking meeting with US President Donald Trump didn't initiate any changes for the North Koreans in the end. The leader of North Korea had previously admitted at the ongoing congress that it hadn't been possible to achieve the objectives set in recent years and that the country was failing in many respects. However, he outlined new procedures and goals that, according to his words, should significantly change the living standards of the Korean people.

According to preliminary data, the balance of foreign trade in goods at standard prices ended with a surplus of more than 32 billion Czech crowns in November, which is a year-on-year increase of 20 billion. The overall foreign trade balance was mainly affected by the surplus of motor vehicles.
"The November balance of foreign trade in goods reached an all-time high in the reference month, thanks to significant year-on-year growth in exports. For the first time since the beginning of 2020, however, the year-on-year value of imports increased as well,"
said Miluše Kavěnová, Director of the CZSO Foreign Trade Statistics Department.

Yesterday, democrats gained control of Congress after winning both congressmen in Georgia. Investors have therefore shown optimism related to the arrival of a new ruling administration in the USA. Controlling the Congress will allow Democrats to strengthen their powers and better enforce the political ideas of incoming President Joe Biden. These should include primarily higher fiscal expenditures and higher taxes. Yesterday's attack by Donald Trump's supporters on the Capitol may have shaken the markets a bit, but the negative impact should be only momentary.
Some investors are concerned about the planned tax changes. However, the Dow and S&P 500 indices reached record highs yesterday. The election results and the majority gained for the Democrats allowed significant entry of investors into sectors that hadn't performed well in recent months, banks and small-cap companies. On the whole, brokers expect the new ruling party to increase infrastructure spending. This, in conjunction with vaccinating the public against COVID-19, should help businesses that have been severely affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

The 28-year-old native of New Mexico bashed influencers who aren't setting a good example in following the government measures in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic on her social networks. The spread of the coronavirus is gaining momentum in the United States, due to which, among other things, the prestigious Grammy Music Awards had to be postponed. Last year, Demi performed at the gala event for the first time in her career. Later, in February, right before the coronavirus epidemic started, she had a chance to sing the American anthem at the prestigious Super Bowl. But coronavirus slowed down her career, and the same thing happened to many other musicians around the world.
The popular singer, who has reportedly returned to the recording studio and is working hard on her new album, is upset with people who have a great influence on social networks, yet refuse to comply with government measures. She didn't give any names, but has alredy critically spoken about this topic several times. It bothers her that influential people travel on vacation during the pandemic and, most importantly, that influencers are throwing various parties all over the United States.
"I wonder what the hell you're doing,"
the popular singer wrote on her Instagram, attaching a shared meme on the subject.

A groundbreaking reconstruction awaits the most famous Italian building. According to the decision of the Italian government, the Colosseum amphitheater (Colosseum) in Rome should get a sliding floor, thanks to which it will be possible for performances to take place in the arena. According to plans drawn up by the Archaeological Park of the Colosseum and the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Activities and Tourism, the long-crumbling floor of the arena will be completely restored. The Italian government is currently looking for a design team to create the retractable floor in the middle of the amphitheater.
"Reconstructing the Colosseum is a great idea that has spread around the world. It will be a great technological intervention that will give visitors the opportunity to see the cellars and admire the beauty of the arena right from within. The goal is to reuse the Colosseum floor for various events,"
said Minister for Cultural Heritage, Activities and Tourism Dario Franceschini.
