From 25 February until 30 April 2017, the Coachella Valley and its desert surroundings will become a centre for art from all over the world. Specific works will be on display here, created by renowned and established artists whose projects formulate and present global and local issues and which also touch on fundamental topics of today’s world.
Writers, musicians, architects and other artists whose works will symbolise the world of today will be represented here. The works on display will touch on various topics ranging from global warming to the night sky and from tribal cultures to tourism or golf which is very popular in Palm Springs.
Visitors to this unique exhibition which is completely open to the public will be able to take a look at the Coachella Valley in the Californian desert via the creative work of the participating artists. Many luxurious and unconventional works of art will be exhibited in locations such as the Palm Springs Art Museum and the Sunnylands Center & Gardens.
The Coachella Valley spreads out to the southeast of Palm Springs along the Salton Sea.
It is a desert environment which is surrounded by some of the highest peaks in the United States. It was a sacred place and home to Indian tribes for a long time and is currently known in particular thanks to tourism. A lot of camping takes place here, hiking and golf. This is a modern architectural location with a wealth of history and lots of prominent personalities come here every year.
