Daniel Ricciardo of Red Bull "takes the lead", Monaco Grand Prix 2018
The strong competition is also promising Austrian pilot Daniel Ricciardo representing Red Bull will start from first position in Sunday's Monaco Grand Prix Formula 1 race after only the second qualification triumph in his career. The 28-year-old rider followed-up on the triumphs from all three practice sessions and won the qualification with a record time of 1:10.810, beating Vettel by two-tenths of a second. Hamilton, the current leader of the championship, finished third by four tenths of a second. Ricciardo has confirmed that the technical circuit is perfect for the more agile vehicles of his team.

"I knew the first lap had been very good, and I felt it would be enough. We do not have so much performance in the qualification, but we still had enough for it to work out, so it's good." Ricciardo added.
"It was good today and I put my all into it, but I was not as good as Daniel. Red Bull was unrivaled, especially in the last sector of the circuit," Hamilton said about his performance today. Prior to the Monaco race, he stated, "My goal is to change places with Ricciardo and win." His ferocity will surely be noticeable during the race.
