Extravagance or breaking through social taboos is definitely one of his endeavours. Fashion designer Michal Marek is coming with his new collection, called 24/7-365/days-4ever, which is to be introduced at a fashion show on 21. 3. in Prague at the Pragovka industrial complex at 19:30 o´clock.
Michal Marek is originally from Olomouc; he lives in Prague, where he studied clothing design. For a number of years, he´s also lived in London and the Greek island of Mykonos. After returning to Prague he worked as a make-up artist for Chanel, but the desire for self-expression led him to create his own fashion designs.
The face of his latest ladies´ collection, Můra (Moth), became an androgenic model, which is definitely not something usual in the Czech Republic. Even the new collection, which is a follow-up, continues to deliver something more.
"The world itself was created without limitations, the borders in our minds are too restrictive, so it is a good idea to disobey limitations in fashion, too," he describes his collection, which is characterised by high-quality materials and very bold patterns, whether it is black and white stripes or gold-embroidered silk.
The latest collection of Michael Marek is divided into 3 parts - unisex, which bears the name WITHOUT BORDERS, a women´s line called BÁRA and a men's line, which according to his own words will be very HOT!
His collection is to be photographed in Tunisia. He made the photographs in the Sahara Desert, in the surroundings of the Tozeur oasis and at the bottom of the largest saline lakes of North Africa, Chott El Jerid. The faces of the collection are model Kateřina Wohlmann Votavová and Tunisian model of Senegalese origin, Mangane Alioune Badara.
The fashion show will take place on 21. 3. in Prague at the industrial Pragovka complex at 19:30 o´clock, 12. 4. in Olomouc at the Nezvalova Archa hotel and 29. 6. in Karlovy Vary at the Spa Hotel Panorama.
