Czech Ball 2018

The unique atmosphere at the premises of the luxury Municipal House offered those present Czech history as part of the celebrations of 100 years since the establishment of Czechoslovakia. The Czech Ball hosted a number of well-known personalities, at the forefront with Karel Gott, Helena Vondráčková or Marie Rottrová.

Evening gowns for princesses

Who would not love the red carpet which leads directly to the beautiful premises of the Municipal House. This is where the first Czech Ball took place on Saturday 3rd February. A luxurious evening goes hand-in-hand with choice drinks and gastronomic novelties, so it was no surprise that there was Champagne and sophisticated dishes aplenty.

"I am so amazed how much the organisers managed to do in less than half a year. It is the first year, but I have to say it was well done!" fashion designer, Blanka Matragi, who is accustomed to all things posh from abroad, commented the ball.

Her dresses are worn by quite a few princesses.

Luxurious decorations and perfect dress code

The beautiful, luxurious decorations were also admired by fashion designer, Osmany Laffita, who is not only a friend of Ivana Trump, but also her chosen designer.

“I am glad that I could come to such a luxurious event. I am pleased that the organisers put such an effort into the decorations. I really do appreciate it," the designer admitted.

Further compliments were lavished by another famous fashion designer, rejoicing that ladies as well as gentlemen observed the dress code.

"I myself made a gown for this occasion. I like it here very much," admitted designer Beata Rajská, who apart from clothes started to design shoes as well.

Her wonderful flowery gown was worn also by the face of this year´s ball, Vice-Miss Czech Republic 2007 and Miss Elegance Czech Republic 2007, Veronika Chmelířová, who was accompanied to the festive event by her parents.

The 100-year celebration of the establishment of Czechoslovakia

The evening, which was organised in historical spirit of Czechoslovakia, was hosted by actor and presenter, Jiří Čenský. The star of the evening was singer Karel Gott, who sang a number of his hits. Beside him also appeared on stage opera singer Tereza Mátlová, singer Marie Rottrová or Helena Vondráčková. To conclude, the orchestra Top Band starred Jan Smolík and singer Pavel Vítek.

And what could the guests pleasure their taste buds with? On the table appeared traditional Czech tartar steak, duck prosciutto, marinated salmon, beef tenderloin in cream sauce, chicken on wine, mussels Sain Jaxques or seafood.

What goes and what doesn´t?

The tradition of dress code, BLACK TIE, goes back to 19th century Britain where it applied that guests of significant evening social events should wear clothes of dark colours. As regards the ladies, it is a long evening gown, or a subtle, long cocktail dress. The shoes should have closed toes and an evening bag should be held in hand. The neck should be adorned by a subtle jewel. Men should wear a dinner jacket with a white shirt and a black bow tie. This of course goes with shoes of black patent leather, the jacket pocket is adorned by a handkerchief with links worn in the cuffs.
