Christopher Kane SS19: A Collection of Fashionable Gems as well as Absolute Flops

It looks as if the latest collection was participated upon by two different designers. While some outfit from the SS19 are luxurious delights, some others are utter flops that not only completely suppress feminine curves, but mainly evoke the unfortunate 80´s

Christopher Kane placed its bet on great shoulders and all things metallic
Great shoulders, blouses with large coloured stones, bulky jeans, lace brassieres distorting the décolletage, denim mini dresses, ankle boots with strangely protruding applications or metallic sparkle - we would rather not see all these items in the luxury collection of SS19.

Despite all this, the British designer contrived to make several models that are, after this plethora of flops a perfect sight for the sore eyes and balm for the soul, too. A pleated midi skirt in nude tone, a white maxi shirt and a green miniskirt decorated with a luxurious lace, a minimalist midi white dress with a sparkly poloneck in silver colour or a black top with a controversial inscription Sexual Cannibalism in combination with a black asymmetrical skirt... If the designer built a luxury collection of SS19 on similar pieces, the final outcome could have been a lot better.
The controversial designer is stepping up the game
Christopher Kane loves to introduce erotic and sensual elements into his collection. But now the boundaries of his luxury creations have been shifted and the collection has been named accordingly. The collection of the next season not only bears the ´SS19´ designation, but also that of ´Sex in Nature´.

To conclude, we have kept the models´ visage, which remained almost unchanged in the course of recent years. Once again, the models appeared on the catwalk with a minimum of make-up, or ´nude´ make up, with hair pulled into a ponytail. Even a controversial designer sometimes prefers the classic.

If we leave out the part inspired by the 80´s, it is a beautiful collection!
A collection full of contradictions; yes, that is how one could definitely briefly describe the SS19 by Christopher Kane. But despite that, I have to my own surprise come to the conclusion, that here there was considerably less of the "hellish" pieces than elsewhere.
What did I think was particularly interesting and what has charmed me? Certainly, the black mini dress with a very abstract take on a corset, covered by lace. I really do not recall that I would have seen something like this elsewhere - all the better. Moreover, it is unbelievably sexy!!! In addition, any shoes will match this; from dainty strappy high heels to daring musketeers. It is perfect for a dinner, or a girl´s night out, or just a drink at Bugsy's. But be careful!!! Don´t go unaccompanied, it is too racy…
For the sake of all concerned, I prefer completely to leave out the "crazy 80´s are back" section because I almost feel sorry to criticise the otherwise REALLY SUCCESSFUL show. To conclude, I would therefore like to highlight one more specific model. It is an evening dress of mid-calf length, with the entire top being decorated with beautiful stones. Yes, that with blazing red lace. Only one look at those long and yet open sleeves full of sparkle just transfix me. Like a combination of the classic with a considerable dose of futurism. Bravo!
