Burning man is an unforgettable luxurious festival. It is a unique event where you can meet celebrities from all over the world. This year it took place from 27 August to 4 September.
When we say festival, do not expect a normal music festival like those in the Czech Republic. Here everything can happen. The program includes concerts as well as happenings, performances and luxurious light shows. You will be in awe over humongous artistic installations. You can meet Santa Claus, huge bunnies and flying fish. Other attractions include bizarre costumes and the whole event looks like a Tim Burton movie. When you leave the festival, you may wonder if everything that happened was real or just a crazy dream.
The festival is a free meeting of people who share with each other the craziest experiences. Everyone who visits the festival is an active participant that creates the town, luxurious arts, and is a part of the whole magical show.
The beginning dates back to 1986 when Larry Harvey burned a wooden statue of a man with a dog on Baker Beach in San Francisco after his girlfriend had left him. Every day at the same time during the summer solstice, he repeated this ritual and attracted a large audience. Gradually the festival grew and was moved to the uninhibited area of a dried out lake in Nevada. The number of participants reached 50,000.
Take a look at these luxurious photographs, made by the Czech photographer Marek Musil who regularly attends the festival and brings unique testimony about his experience. But that’s not all. Marek also attends similar festivals in South Africa and Israel and is currently planning an extensive exhibition of his pictures. We will keep you posted.
